Peaches and Cream Smoothie with Maple and Ginger

Peaches & Cream Smoothie // Autumn Makes & Does

I have this favorite magnolia tree in the west village. Really, every magnolia tree is my favorite when it is full of flowers, but I’m sure this one has someone who is paid to take care if it and it truly is stunning. Last week, when I was walking past it on another 10 degree or so day, I tried hard to pretend it was full of bloom.

Peaches & Cream Smoothie // Autumn Makes & Does

This smoothie comes from that same sort of desire, a bit of grasping toward warmer weather. Inspired by the flavors of summer fruit desserts, this peach smoothie features ginger, maple syrup, and kefir. This is another one of the smoothies I did for Serious Eats. I was really happy that so many folks really enjoyed the last one! Please head on over to Serious Drinks for the recipe for Peaches and Cream Smoothie with Maple and Ginger.

Oh, this sounds so good! I’m generally a pretty strictly seasonal eater, but my dirty locavore secret is the bag of blueberries in my freezer. And now that I’ve seen this, there may be two dirty secrets in my freezer.

Hahaha! One year I froze peach halves… I wasn’t entirely sure what I’d do with them when I did it, but it was a great thing. Thanks, Meg.

I’ve noticed some magnolia trees here look like they’re budding up, like furry, pussywillow-type getting ready to bud. And it’s subzero, so go figure! I have frozen blueberries & peaches too, thanks for this idea…
