Date, Tahini, and Cardamom Smoothie

Date, tahini, & cardamom smoothie || Autumn Makes & Does

We did a sage smudge to the apartment, the cat (!), and ourselves at the end of last month. We had such a mucky end of 2013 that it felt like we’d take whatever little help we could get to clear out the nasties from the corners of our life. So far, January has been so full of friends and big loves that I’m calling it for Team Doesn’t Suck.

The week that hell froze over in the midwest, I flew there to watch one of my dearest friends get married. Important eats included: bacon, egg, & cheese empanadas and a really boss chocolate sprinkle donut. Last weekend, we had some friends in town and we ate baked oatmeal and drank very legit diner Irish Coffee.

So clearly I’m not doing any sort of cleanse to start the year, but I do appreciate a good smoothie. Every day this month, Serious Drinks is posting a juice or smoothie recipe and asked me to pitch in a couple smoothies. The first one is this nutty, caramely, creamy vegan smoothie starring dates and tahini. Head on over to Serious Eats for the recipe!

I saw this on Serious Eats yesterday and made it when I got home from yoga last night – I am vehemently not a smoothie person but this sounded so interesting. I LOVED it. Tahini and banana might be my new favorite combo. Thanks for a great recipe!

YES! I am so happy to hear that Adrienne. It makes a good after work/after yoga snack because the tahini makes it a more filling than just a bunch of smoothied fruit.

This looks superb! I’ve been having lots of smoothies for breakfast lately. I’ll add this one to the line-up.

Sounds super tasty! Never heard of tahini in a smoothie. 🙂

P.S. I love sage smudging.
